Equality Officer & coordination of anti-discrimination and anti-racism activities
Discrimination at universities may arise in various domains:
for students: during admission procedure, student financing, study progress, for instance in examinations, or while entering the professional world
for employees: during advertising and recruitment, regarding payment, access to qualification and carreer opportunities, in the personnel management or the organisation of work
The The General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) requires any employer to take adequate measures to avoid disadvantages. The Anti-Discrimination Office informs members, students and employees of the university and receives suggestions and complaints. It works with the parties concerned to find consensual solutions. The Equality Officer advises and supports the President and the other bodies and institutions of the University in all matters concerning the equality of men and women, especially with regard to targets, structure and personnel decisions and producing and implementing the equality concept and the equality plans. The equality officer is a member of the State Conference of Equality Officers (LaKoG).
